PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Since 1993, Dr. Hollar has treated many children for many different dental procedures, although there are some children and some procedures whose treatment and circumstances are better served by a pediatric dentist. Pediatric dentists specialize, and only treat, children. When appropriate, a referral to see a pediatric dentist is always a consideration.

SEALANTS

Sealants are a preventative procedure. Sealants are much like flowing "super glue" into the grooves of back teeth. Before pouring the sealant into the grooves, we thoroughly clean the grooves and remove all plaque, stain, and food. Then the sealant is applied and hardened with a special light, preventing harmful substances from occupying those hard-to-clean grooves.

Keeping the food, plaque, and stain out of the grooves stops the first step in the chain of events that leads to decay. Sealants are effective prevention for both children and adults alike, and the application of sealants is simple, fast, painless!
