Tooth Extractions

Any tooth can be extracted for different reasons. Common reasons for tooth extraction consist of trauma or decay, crowded teeth, infection, compromised immune system, gum disease, and problematic wisdom teeth. Dr. Wayne Hollar, DDS, will perform a simple removal if the tooth is visible. In this case, we administer a local anesthetic and then loosen and remove the tooth. The second type of extraction, surgical, our dentist performs is for more complicated teeth such as a broken tooth or a tooth that is below the gum line.
